Perma 1 Fresh™ is our personal journey of rediscovering life in its best form.
It was born from a desire to slow down, reconnect with nature, and participate in the deeply fulfilling act of growing our own food—guided by a regenerative design system that integrates land, people, and resources into a harmonious whole.
Long before this vision took shape, the land was simply a quiet investment on the outskirts of our busy lives. For nearly two decades, we visited it a few times each year—arriving with pizza and cola, sitting beneath a small cluster of three trees, the only shade on an open stretch of earth. Curious neighbouring farmers would stop by with tender coconuts, roasted groundnuts, or fresh corn, gently asking, “What are your plans for this land?” Our answers were always the same: “Nothing.” “Let’s see.” We truly did not know.
Yet somewhere within us, a quiet tug for deeper engagement had begun.
Then the world paused. When COVID reshaped our understanding of impermanence and what truly matters, we found ourselves drawn back to the land—not as investors, but as stewards. What had once been distant and untouched began to ask for a more meaningful role in our lives.
We began to dream—of soil on our hands, of seasons guiding our days, of livestock and poultry, of fields we could tend ourselves. We imagined harvesting our own food, watching luminous sunsets, and standing beneath clear, star-filled skies with a sense of belonging.
Clarity, however, did not arrive overnight. What followed was six months of reflection—a journey from uncertainty to intention. It began with modest ideas: perhaps a small shelter for occasional visits. But slowly, the question deepened—what if this became home?
Like many urban dreamers, we started conventionally, planting boundary trees and feeling quietly proud. Yet we knew we were being called toward something more holistic, more regenerative.
So we sought guidance—not merely to build a house, but to design a living system. A space we could grow into, retire into, and live lightly within. A farm that would nourish us while restoring the land.
Perma 1 Fresh™ emerged from that turning point—when ownership transformed into stewardship, and a quiet investment became a conscious way of life
Maalvika Solanki, a certified Permaculture Practitioner and founder of Open Shell Farm, guided us with her expertise in regenerative design and ecological planning.
Ajit Andagere, principal architect of Andagere Architects, and his multidisciplinary team brought the vision of the house to life with thoughtful, sustainable design—blending India’s age-old building wisdom with a touch of modernity.
Together, they helped us translate our dream into a living, breathing farm and home that is both regenerative and enduring
The Founders
We come to this land shaped by science, systems, enterprise, and leadership — and by a shared belief that meaningful work must endure.
Bindu’s foundation lies in life sciences, with formal training in microbiology and medical physiology.
Her scientific grounding is complemented by over two decades of leadership in learning and organisational development, designing systems that enable people and institutions to grow sustainably.
She brings to the land the same respect for biological intelligence and systemic thinking she applies to organisations—seeing soil not as input, but as living intelligence.
Suresh grew up immersed in enterprise through his family’s silk weaving business, a thriving operation that combined craft, scale, and creativity.
Over three decades, he has led across established and entrepreneurial environments, taking ideas to market with strategic clarity. He is known for identifying talent, building high-performing teams, and delivering sustained profitability with foresight and discipline.
Together, we bring science and strategy, intuition and execution, vision and viability — ensuring Perma 1 Fresh™ remains purpose-led, commercially sound, and built for longevity.
Our Commitment
At Perma 1 Fresh™, permaculture is not a label — it is our operating system.
We are committed to creating a fully integrated, regenerative system where soil, water, plants, animals, and people function in mutually supportive relationships.
Every decision is guided by long-term ecological and economic sustainability.
Soil First – Our farm is nourished exclusively with organic, farm-derived inputs: farmyard manure, jeevamrutha, ghanajeevamrutha, and panchagavya. No chemical fertilizers. No synthetic inputs. Ever.
Water Stewardship – Rainwater is harvested, stored responsibly, and distributed efficiently through drip irrigation systems. Water is conserved, respected, and cycled intelligently across the landscape.
Diversity by Design – We cultivate a dense, poly-fruit orchard with 40+ varieties of fruits, alongside cereals, pulses, oilseeds, vegetables, spices, and fodder crops. Diversity is intentional: it strengthens resilience, enhances soil vitality, and mirrors natural ecosystems.
Integrated Animal Systems – Native Hallikar cows, free-range chickens, ducks, and guinea fowls are partners in regeneration, not production units.
Closed-Loop Thinking – Waste from one process becomes nourishment for another. Inputs are minimized. Outputs are valued. The system matures toward self-sufficiency.
Climate-Responsive Design – Our long-term vision is a climate-sensitive, drought-resilient, biodiverse landscape that grows more abundant with fewer external inputs over time.
We grow what we eat — and we make it available to you. Perma 1 Fresh™ is our commitment to living lightly, farming responsibly, and producing food that is truly chemical-free, nutrient-dense, and regenerative. Because the future of food must restore more than it takes.
Founder Vision
We believe the future of food is intentional, not industrial.
Land is not owned — it is entrusted.
Systems, whether in organisations or soil, must regenerate.
Perma 1 Fresh™ is our proof that conscious stewardship can shape a more abundant future.
